Originally designed for use in NZ commercial cherry orchards by kiwi Fred Field, where the trees were planted in the root restriction bags then placed in the ground. The result was an outstanding creation of smaller growing Cherry trees that could be planted closer together and covered with cost effective structures.
These "EverGrow" bags are now available to the general public for use in home gardens.
Create compact growing fruit trees that fruit heavily, stay compact & low in height as if they were dwarf grafted. No root binding, no repotting. Use above or below ground. Makes for a movable orchard solution, the tree doesn't have to stay in one spot (for instance, if you are currently renting).
NZ made EverGrow Bags are designed to restrict the root growth of the tree without it becoming root bound & as a consequence control the growth rate and fruitfulness of fruiting & ornamental plants/trees. This is achieved with the permeable material of the EG Bag which creates a system of self pruning the plant/trees fibrous feeder roots.
Therefore, you can grow fruit trees/ornamental trees/plants that wont take up nearly as much space as they would grown in the open garden. The tree is way easier to net to protect from bird predation of the ripening fruit.
Once the tree is planted in the EG Bag, they can be placed in the ground or left to grow above ground, just as you would a tubbed tree/plant. Or put them in a larger hard wall decorative tub.
The EG Bag does not allow the tree to become root bound like they would in a solid container. The tree will grow and fruit productively and the size/height growth remains controlled by the EG Bag and some light pruning management.
Materials and design tested over 30 years. Materials are non toxic, UV stable (10 yr UV warranty), Wont rot, tear or fray.
Make plants and trees movable, portable, tradeable & relocatable without affecting their health & fruitfulness. You can space trees closer. Prevent roots from disrupting underground cabling, pipes, foundations.
