These are the quality made Japanese secateurs we use at the orchard. When you are pruning 400+ trees, the last thing you want is a cheap pair of secateurs!
The latest and most modern anvil OR bypass secateurs on the market. The ARS V Series secateurs are designed for professional horticulture, orchards, viticulture, arboriculture, and hard out gardeners (I fall into the orchard and hard out categories).
JAPANESE MADE - High quality material & build quality indisputable. Produces a clean cut due to a very powerful cutting blade.
The V series are unique thanks to their super light but very strong construction of die-cast aluminium handles and well balanced cutting head, making them feel lighter than they really are.
All this along with the new locking system that prevents accidental locking during use, and comfortable grips for both left and right handed users make these new pruners from ARS the complete package!
All parts on the VA/S series are replaceable. This enable the user to reduce the maintenance cost by replacing only the part needed. Parts & warranty backed by reputable NZ ARS Distributor.

Anvil or Bypass - what's the difference:
Anvil secateurs are best designed for hard wood's as it takes 20% less effort to cut compared to a bypass pruner. The cut is exactly like a knife cutting something in a cutting board. This however is offset by the fact that an anvil pruner will crush softer woods such as new season rose etc.
For a very clean cut that stops disease, the bypass pruner is the better. The bypass cut is where the cutting blade cuts through the wood and carries down past the bottom bar, therefore preventing crushing of the wood as its being cut.
The ultimate solution is to have both options and then you can use either depending on the season and plant being pruned!
